A Hands-On Virtual Work Session for New and Aspiring Authors!

This is a 2-Part Online Workshop for New and Aspiring Authors. Self-Publishing Made Simple and Marketing Magnets Workshop is designed to meet new and aspiring authors where they are and help them self-publish with intention and longevity. Join for one session or stay for both, and leave with a range of fun ideas and practical resources you can put into practice with ease. Participants will receive a virtual workbook to follow along with throughout the session.

I had the chance to co-host my first events since welcoming my little one, and she got to watch mommy step back into her creative rhythm.

The “Market Your Children’s Book Workshop” was a powerful activation. We talked about what it means to share stories with intention, how authors can connect with readers and business partners in ways that feel authentic, and how marketing can be fun especially when rooted in community.

Thank you and congratulations to all of the awesome authors who showed up ready to learn, share, and grow together. And a special thank you to @arniethearmadillo and @thatsnovelbooks for welcoming me into your space and trusting me to pour into your community.

I recently had the honor of being featured on WBTV’s QC Life, where I spoke about The Creative Composition Guide to Self-Publishing and Marketing Children’s Books. Charlotte is home to so many talented artists and authors, and I’m grateful to be part of a creative community that believes every child deserves to see themselves reflected in stories.

During the segment, we talked about why diverse children’s books matter, how authors can publish with confidence, and the intentional ways we can uplift voices that have historically been overlooked. I hope that this guide continues to serve writers, educators, parents, and emerging storytellers who are ready to share meaningful books with young readers.

Book Scoot 2025 was full of heart, sunshine, and stories in the making! I had such an awesome time posted up in the courtyard of That’s Novel Books, connecting with folks who truly believe in the power of children’s literature.
