Bre’Anna Washington - Weatherford

With a mission to get more diverse books into the hands of her community, Bre’Anna Washington Weatherford, lovingly known as Bee, is a passionate author-illustrator and youth art educator. Bre’Anna has served her community for nearly a decade and is committed to providing safe and nourishing spaces for young people to express themselves and confidently explore the world through creativity.

Bre’Anna earned her B.A. in history, focusing on Africana studies. She is a certified early childhood development specialist with a vision of providing our children with the wisdom, resources, and support to explore their natural talents, embrace their highest potential, and expand their cultural worldview.

Bre’Anna is the Co-coordinator of The Grier Heights Youth Arts Program, The Co-Organizer of Charlotte Business Builders Community, and the Author of The Creative Composition Guide to Self-publishing and Marketing Children’s Books.

She is the contributing Illustrator to 6 self-published titles, including ‘A is for Alchemy: A Guide for the Little Conscious Creator’ (Esther Reese), ‘Little ‘Warrior Woman: Just Like Mama’ (Osunfemi Wanbi Njeri), ‘Cairo The Courageous’ (Schenike Massie-Lambert) and ‘The Chronicles of Blake and Brooke Bon Appétit it’s time to Eat’ (Dr. Carmen Wade).
